Voice and Data Communications over BGAN

During remote broadcasts, BGAN can be used to maintain communications from the remote area with telephone, e-mail and messaging services. These communications services can be used during a remote broadcast or while setting up. Full communications capability from remote locations can be essential to broadcasting and other operations.

In addition to communications from remote areas, BGAN is also being used for emergency and contingency communications. The BGAN terminals are portable, and some of them can be installed as fixed units. As a result, some broadcasters are using BGAN terminals for portable emergency communications on trucks, or to carry with them on trips. The BGAN terminals can go where the communications trucks cannot, and they can also be used in a backup capacity. The BGAN terminals are also being used at broadcast studios in fixed and portable applications for emergency and contingency communications.

BGAN terminals may be purchased or rented, and there is a terminal for every broadcasting budget. For more information on BGAN and its broadcast applications, contact Mackay Communications at 919 850-3000 or e-mail mackaynews@mackaycomm.com
